Our Chennai Show 17-Dec-2006 -- A Smash Hit!!!!!! - Wide Media Coverage
Hope you all are doing great !! and in the best of spirits.
Our 17-Dec whistling show at Chennai, Chinmaya Heritage center was a smash hit!!!!!! We had in total of 12 whistlers performing to popular file songs of last 50 years and we had the audience swaying to our tunes. Yes, everyone was there !! the press, t.v, media and what have you....! There were around 500 - 600 people who attended our show.
A number of TV channels covered our show, a few prominent ones being Aaj Tak, Jaya TV, DD News, Raj TV and the list goes on and on....And yes the news papers were there -- Deccan Chronicle, Rajasthan Patrika etc...to name a few and a some of the local tamil newspapers.
We have been featured on Jaya TV and a brief writeup of our show was published on tuesday's (19-Dec-06) edition of Deccan Chronicle as well as Rajasthan Patrika the same day. More such writeups on our show are being featured........
To top it all, today(21-Dec) IWA was aired on Radiocity 91.10 FM between 7 AM & 10 AM , Jagat Uncle, Pooja & Abhishek spoke of their experiences & experiments with whistling, with Pooja the 8 Year old child prodigy performing a small bit from Dhoom machade. From our show Radiocity also aired Nibin's song Churaliya Hai Tumne Jo..
So friends this is just the beginning!!!!! Yes we have arrived and truly have arrived in style on the media circuit.
Our phones have just not stopped ringing since then......and we have more and more talented whistlers joining us now.Our friends, sponsors and the audience appear to have been captivated by such a show. We are improving in our performances and getting better as days go by......soon we plan to perform live on the music played by the orchestra.
We also plan to bring in different kinds of performances in our live whistling shows like beat boxing, mimicry... to name a few.
Our magazine souveneir 'Whistlearth' has been well received and as a maiden effort has been praised by one and all, it contains a world of light & semi-technical articles on whistling. It is priced at Rs.125 for whistlers and Rs. 150/- for outsiders, so hurry and support our cause by ordering a few copies because only a few copies are left!!!!
At this point I must say Rigveda, myself and Chetan have had several brainstorming sessions painstakingly working late into the nights on designing the cover and contents of the magazine.. thanks to google talk for making this possible and we could work on it as if we were all at the same place at the same time.
And I must thank all of my active Chennai ' CO ' co-ordinators - There are 4 of us -- Pankaj, Chandramouli, Abhishek & Pavithra and ofcourse the driving forces Jagat Uncle & Rigveda.
